Corporate Identity Class
Client: Stubborn Records
Category: Identity
November, 2007
This identity was developed for my corporate identity class. This was a 2 month process that invovled audience research and testing,
mark development, typography exploration, and a system for applications of the identity.
Original Concepts
I explored concepts involving a vinyl record, a tape reel, a fist, a stubborn looking man, as well as a few other iconic symbols.
I ultimately chose the 'stubborn man' because it represents the idea of a stubborn attitude toward the style of music
that the company is trying to push.
Signature
I decided to use the same type treatment for both variations of the signature. This works well for both versions and gives them a
cohesive feel allowing them to be used interchangeably. I chose the red tone to give the signature a serious feel that fits well
with a lot of the music that Stubborn Records releases. The signature grid is based on the size of the type in ralation to the mark.
